Dev Soor is the founder and CEO of VisionTroy. He spent more than two decades building the software that data centers run on, and the last several years building with AI. VisionTroy is where those two careers meet: agentic AI, built to the standards of data center software, for the people who run golf clubs.

From data centers to AI

Dev trained as an electrical and computer engineer and spent his career on software that isn't allowed to fail: the automation that tests network equipment before it carries live traffic, the cloud platforms businesses run on, and security software trusted with other companies' data. In that world, software has to work every time, it has to fit into systems that are already running, and it has to keep each customer's data apart.

His roles moved between engineering, product management and sales, so he spent as much time with the people using the software as he did writing it. He also founded and ran a software startup of his own, from the first line of code through sales and support.

As AI moved from analytics to agents, he moved with it. He completed MIT's Applied Data Science Program in machine learning and has been building with large language models, AI search over private documents, and AI agents ever since, including an AI assistant for doctors before he turned to clubs.

Bringing it to golf clubs

As a private club member, Dev watched talented GMs and department heads spend their days on work that moves between systems: a tee sheet, a POS, an accounting package, and a long tail of spreadsheets and email that don't talk to each other. Coding a supplier invoice, building a banquet event order, announcing the member-guest: each one lands on whoever has a minute. To someone who had spent his career connecting systems, it was a familiar problem, and one that AI agents could finally take on.

So he built VisionTroy on the same principles as his earlier work. Like data center software, it connects to the systems a club already runs instead of replacing them. Like security software, each club runs in its own private, US-hosted environment, and its data is never used for another club. And because he has always built for the people using the software, Troy prepares the work and a staff member approves every step.

Under the hood, Troy is a team of specialized AI agents, each expert in one area of the club, that learn from the club's own documents and hand work to each other the way departments do. Today Troy takes on F&B invoice costing, banquet event orders, GL coding, event announcements and member surveys.

A GM's view, from day one

Strategic Advisor, Club Development

Dev works closely with Eric Slack, a Certified Club Manager and PGA Professional with more than 25 years in golf and hospitality, including GM and Director of Golf roles at Top 100 clubs. Eric brings the GM's view to how VisionTroy is built and how it is introduced to clubs, so every workflow starts from how a club actually runs.
